MeerKAT 1.3 GHz LMC Point Source Catalogue
Version 1.0

1. Introduction
This package contains the point source catalogue derived from the MeerKAT 1.3 GHz (L-band) imaging survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC).
The catalogue includes 339,128 point sources detected in broadband and all subbands. Spectral indices are provided as well. The catalogue is supplied in both ASCII and FITS formats.

2. Contents of This Package
- PS_Catalogue.ascii
  ASCII table of all point sources, including broadband and subband flux densities, positions, uncertainties, and spectral indices.

- PS_Catalogue.fits
  FITS binary table version of the catalogue, containing full metadata. Recommended for analysis with TOPCAT, CASA, ds9, or Astropy.


3. Catalogue Description
Each row in the catalogue corresponds to one point source. Information includes:

Astrometry:
- RA, Dec (J2000) in degrees
- Positional uncertainties (arcsec)

Broadband Measurements:
- Peak and integrated flux densities (Jy, Jy/beam)
- Flux density uncertainties
- Local RMS


Subband Measurements:
- Peak and integrated flux densities (Jy, Jy/beam)
- Flux density uncertainties
- Local RMS

Spectral Index:
- Spectral index (alpha)
- Uncertainty on alpha


4. Usage Notes
- The catalogue includes only point sources.
- The catalogue is suitable for cross-matching, statistical studies, and population analysis.
